2021 Off The Bike

After we were forced to write off 2020 we have all set goals and ambitions for 2021 and the opportunity it offers. The weather is getting cheery and 2021’s training is in full swing. Your performance is nearing readiness to meet all the challenges you’ve set but away from sport, maybe the year can also bring some other tests. Here are a few thoughts on a checklist of possible ‘to-do’s’ that will help you reset from the bonkers world we now find ourselves in. Before the year why don’t you;
- Embark on a long journey without using a sat-nav or mobile. Go old school and break out a map, ask directions or just relay on that navigators six sense. Getting lost used to be half the fun.
- Have a conversation with a stranger. On the bus or the train, put down the phone and strike up a conversation with that person next to you.
- Wake up to see a summer sunrise. The world is at its best during that fresh morning twilight.
- Try to learn a foreign language. This is one of the most frustrating yet strangely satisfying mental challenges out there.
Many more options are possible but these will hopefully get the mind stirring and shake off the odd ball ‘new normal’ of the 2020’s. Never Follow, give 2021 challenges on and off the bike.
