Listen to your Inner voice

We all have that wise and sensible inner voice that tells us that; ‘you can’t carry all of that, make two trips’, ‘that's not secure, it'll fall off’, ‘don’t jump that, walk round’…and many other boring, level-headed and practical warnings that always turn out to be frustratingly correct. Then as we’re picking ourselves out of the muddy bog, the one we were sure we could sail over, we tell ourselves that we knew we should have listened. While there are times that this smug little know-it-all needs to be overruled in the interests of adventure and excitement, the little chap should sometimes receive our attention. Sensible can be dull but it can also be smart. Separating these can lead us to become better, more astute athletes, still pursuing our crazy goals but with tact and cunning. Never Follow the urge to always dismiss that little voice of reason, listen and decide; will this make me better. Maybe taking that extra 100g inner tube will save you walking the bike the 50 miles home…
